Kefaya Hazara and Elaha Soroor are an award winning, boundary breaking collective. Their music's a powerful synthesis of cultures, voices, genres and rhythms. 

They've performed at major UK and international festivals including WOMAD and Celtic Connections, as well as touring nationally across India. More highlights include being on the 2024 WOMEX official lineup and supporting Vieux Farka Touré. 

Their 2019 album, Songs of Our Mothers, reimagined songs composed and performed by Afghan women. It won the Songlines Fusion Award and received coverage on BBC Radio 3 and BBC 6 Music. Plus, it sparked the creation of their label, Radio International. Through this, they support radical and forward-thinking music. 

Their upcoming album, Our Freedoms Must Be Won (2026) pushes further into synth rock, post punk, and jazz psychedelia. All while keeping subtle influences from Afghan folk traditions. Developed through live improvisation and experimentation, it features Farsi poetries addressing themes of exile and resistance.
