Riverside Ragas is thrilled to host Ustad Irshad Khan for his first-ever performance in the North East. It's a rare chance to experience one of the most compelling sitarists of his generation up close. A master of the Imdadkhani gharana, a tradition shaped by the ideal of making the sitar sing like the human voice. His playing is unhurried and meditative. Each phrase given room to breathe. Each raga allowed to deepen at its own pace. 

Accompanying him on tabla is Gurdain Rayatt, a musician whose rhythmic precision has made him one of the most sought-after performers in British-Indian classical music today. Together, they create a performance alive with presence. A meeting of two artists who listen as deeply as they play, transforming the stage into a space of discovery, dialogue and pure musical connection.
