In October 2007 four folk musicians from the North East of England travelled to Jodhpur in Rajasthan to work together as the Crucible Project with a group of the finest Rajasthani Folk Musicians for the first Rajasthan International Folk Festival (www.jodphurfolkfestivalorg.) Now eight of the Rajasthanis travel to the UK, with Bangalore musicians Raghu Dixit and Vijay Joseph, to collaborate with Northumbrian Folk Musicians to create an exciting mix of Eastern and Western music traditions, including the rich vocal percussion and instrumental styles for which Rajasthan is famous worldwide.
