Described by BBC Radio 3 as “absolutely stunning,” Wilson’s and Hussain’s unique piano and tabla collaboration interweaves Western contemporary classical, jazz, and South Asian musical styles. Their sparkling 2019 album, DIWAN, received global critical acclaim and the duo are currently working on their next release.
In perfect balance, the mesmeric warmth of Helen Anahita Wilson’s piano meets the virtuosic and thrilling tabla playing of one of Europe’s finest percussionists, Shahbaz Hussain. The duo’s inspiring performances evoke memories of the finest crossover projects by giants such as Terry Riley and Shakti.
