Keertan’s interest in music began at the age of four when she was first introduced to the harmonium and began learning Gurbani Kirtan from Dharambir Ji and Gunwant Kaur at the Sikh Centre in Leeds. From that she quickly developed and took part in several group and individual performances and competitions. By the age of eight, Keertan became familiar with and took a real interest in North Indian classical music and under vocal training from the late Jayasree Sen Gupta.
In 2011, Keertan had the privilege to further enhance her musicianship under the tutelage of the legendary Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty Ji, Kaushiki Chakraborty Ji and Parthasarathi Ji. She has performed numerous times across the UK.
