Celebrating the fantastic work of GemArts’ music leaders, young people from the east and west of Newcastle and all our amazing partners who have made East by North East a leading project which has worked with over 130 young people in weekly music sessions since 2013.

East by North East is a Youth Music funded project led by GemArts, working in partnership with CHAT Trust, Excelsior Academy, Life Transformation Church, Linhope PRU, North Benwell Youth Project, Sage Gateshead and West Walker Family Centre.
 
East by North East has enabled GemArts to further diversify the music skills and workforce of music practitioners in the North East, whilst providing high quality music making opportunities for young people based in the West and East end of Newcastle, and in April 2017 participants will come together to celebrate their achievements and the region’s rich musical and cultural diversity.
