Riverside Ragas Sangam
Sangam marks a meeting, a confluence and a blending of musical backgrounds, journeys, traditions and instruments.
Three master musicians, Pandit Bharat Bhushan Goswami, Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE and Pandit Ramdas Palsule will come together for the first time in a unique tour across the UK from 8th October 2016 to 30th October 2016. British audiences will have the rare chance to hear the sounds of Sarangi and Sitar together and it is also the first time that exceptional tabla artist Ramdas Palsule will be performing in the UK. A variety of musical moods and compositions will be explored by layering the skills and strengths of the instruments and artists. The result will be a spectacular journey through sound, showcasing India’s finest musical traditions.

Bharat Bhushan Goswami
Bharat Bhushan Goswami was trained by Pandit Kanaiya Lal and Pandit Hanuman Prasad Mishra (father of Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra) from the Benares Gharana. He is very well known for his striking mastery in the ragas and excels as an accompanying artist. Currently, he is working for All India Radio in Delhi. In 2014, Darbar Festival invited him to perform at their opening concert, held at the London Southbank. Bharat Bhushan Goswani has also accompanied Pandit Vinayak Tohrvi and Dr Prabha Atre, two senior vocalists within Indian Classical Music, and is a recipient of the All India Radio, Latif Khan Samman Award.
Dharambir Singh MBE
Dharambir Singh is one of the most prominent North Indian Classical musicians based in the U.K. A student of the legendary Ustad Vilayat Khan he also studied at the School Of Oriental and African studies at the University of London, and is a fellow of NESTA (National Endowment for Science Technology and Arts) and FTCL (Fellow Trinity College London). He was awarded an MBE in 2011. Alongside an extensive performance career, Dharambir’s reputation as an educator is unparalleled. He worked as a tutor with Leicester Music Service, lecturer at Leeds College Of Music and an adviser at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on their BMus Degree in Indian Music in collaboration with Trinity College Of Music. He was the founder and the artistic director of SAMYo, the first national south Asian music youth orchestra and artistic adviser for Tarang, the UK’s first South Asian senior ensemble.
Ramdas Palsule
Ramdas Palsule is a very familiar name to the worshipers of Hindustani music as an intellectual tabla player who has carved a niche for himself at a very young age. Ramdas has been recognized as one of the most senior disciples of world famous tabla maestro ‘Taalyogi’ Pandit Suresh Talwalkar. Besides performances, Ramdas imparts training to the younger generation of students of tabla as a Guru in the Center for Performing Arts of the University of Pune.
