Appetite Dance Productions: WILD
WILD ..... an interactive family event.
We are all wild at heart, but in this age of virtual realities and technology, we may sometimes forget, WILD is there to rediscover and to celebrate. You will be surprised how much there is to find!
Humans live off the land, and we’ve always done so, but do we realise? On the outside there is so little to remind us. But inside …. Yes - the sound of torrential rain, fierce wind in trees, thunder and lightning, faint echo’s in the distant silence on a sunny day - the smell of grass – this reminds us of our world’s greatness, and makes us feel that we are part of it.
Darkness also brings out wildness – who has never been afraid of the dark? Yet who has not been fascinated by the moon, and the millions of stars?
Animals – are they just pets, food, or curiosities? No. They can be friends, examples, companions, sometimes competitors. Who has never wanted to cuddle a rabbit? Who has not wished they could fly like a bird? Who has never dreamed of spiders, snakes, or crocodiles? Who has never been fascinated by a giraffe, or an elephant? Who has not feared tigers and sharks? Of course we are sometimes scared ... but fear can turn into greatness when we face it, withstand, understand - WE are wild, with them.
WILD is an event where you and your children can celebrate all this, and have fun together. WILD is a story, in which the audience have a part, where you are allowed to move, enjoy making sounds, and sing. WILD is a story, too, with acting, dance and live music. A story, about US.
