We welcome back this exceptional duo after their first ever UK performance 3 years ago for what will once again be a rare chance to listen to the remarkable sarangi. Known as the ‘instrument of a hundred colours,’ Murad Ali’s sarangi recitals bloom with rare ragas through a family tradition spanning six generations of sarangi players. Murad has composed music for many Bollywood and serious art films, and has toured extensively, GemArts is delighted to bring him to the North East for this special concert.

Murad Ali is accompanied by one of the UK’s most vibrant and fast emerging tabla maestros, Gurdain Rayatt. 



This concert is accompanied by a pre concert talk, when Murad and Gurdain will share insight into their wonderful instruments and the music they perform.
