Project Avartan
We're helping celebrate Sage Gateshead's 10th birthday by welcoming this fantastic world fusion trio during the venue's birthday week.
To mark this incredible milestone GemArts welcome UK Project Avartan on Thursday 18th December, 8pm. As it is the festive season and a time for giving, tickets are free for this concert, and we hope both new and regular audiences can join us. Please book your free ticket through the Sage Gateshead box office and we look forward to celebrating with you.
Project Avartan features musicians Rekesh Chauhan (Piano), Alok Verma (Tabla/Percussions) and John Garner (Violin).
Avartan, meaning cycle, weaves in influences from various world music styles, with an emphasis on the classical backgrounds the trio share. The project explores a soundscape of musical traditions with an array of contemporary flavours.
