GONG Festival Celebrate Indonesia! with Ramayana

The GONG Festival, 1-18 July, was the first North East Gamalan Music Festival. GemArts in partnership with GONG, programmed a performance of the 'Ramayana on Stilts' at Baltic Square on 16th July.

'Ramayana on Stilts' was a dance theatre spectacular, performing stories from the Ramayana by artists from Bali, India, Singapore and Java. Young theatre leaders from Jackass Theatre, in Co Durham joined the artists on the Baltic Square for the lively and inspiring performance.
