Double Dutch: A Game

Double Dutch: A Game

Double Dutch: A Game
November 2013
Double Dutch: A Game by Artist Isabel Lima, is a participatory performance in two parts, each representing a different view of the process of seeking asylum in the UK from the perspective of both the asylum seeker and the caseworker. The skipping game, Double Dutch, is used metaphorically to convey the tricky, confusing, and enduring process of seeking asylum in the UK. Watch out for a publication and an exhibition of the two films in 2014.

Co-commissioned by GemArts. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. With thanks to Sage Gateshead, Platforma, Newcastle University and The Holy Biscuit

UPDATE: Double Dutch: a game will be presented at Globe Gallery, Newcastle, between 18th June and 21st June 2014. For more info visit here
