GemArts offered this rare opportunity to learn Indian Vocals from one of the north easts’ exceptional talents.
Born in New Delhi, and now based in Newcastle, Dr Vijay Rajput is one of Britain's most talented Indian classical singers. A maestro of the 'khayal’ style from the north Indian tradition and an artist of international repute, his performances mesmerise audiences in India and abroad. Vijay trained under the guidance of world renowned figures including Pt. M. G. Deshpande, Pt. Vinay Chander Mudgal and Pt. Madhup Mudgal ji, and Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Ji.
We were delighted to work with such an accomplished artist to offer these workshops. Vijay holds M.A., M.PHIL., PH.D. Workshops are open to everyone, sessions will cover a range of vocal styles from India, no prior experience necessary.
